Day 0: Arrival – Kilimanjaro International Airport to Moshi

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be welcomed by an Okapi Expedition representative and transferred to your hotel in Moshi.

Day 1: Moshi – Rongai Gate – Simba Camp

Elevation: 6,500 ft → 8,600 ft

After breakfast, depart Moshi and drive to Rongai Gate. The route passes through local villages, coffee farms, and northern Tanzanian countryside.

Day 2: Simba Camp – Second Camp

After an early dinner, rest and prepare for the summit attempt which begins around midnight.

Day 6: Kibo Camp – Uhuru Peak – Horombo Camp

Elevation: 15,300 ft → 19,341 ft → 12,200 ft

Hiking Time: 12–16 Hours

Habitat: Arctic / Summit Zone

Summit day begins shortly before midnight. Trek slowly through the darkness towards Gilman’s Point before continuing to Uhuru Peak.

Standing at Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the Roof of Africa, is the highlight of the entire adventure.

After celebrations and photos, descend to Horombo Camp for a well-deserved rest.

Day 7: Horombo Camp – Marangu Gate – Moshi

Elevation: 12,200 ft → 6,100 ft
